Justin Hicks

Justin Hicks is a multidisciplinary artist and member of The HawtPlates a family singing group that was formed in a one-bedroom apartment in The Bronx. His work has been featured at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Performance Space New York, The Public Theater, JACK, Dixon Place, The Whitney Museum of American Art, among many others. Hicks has collaborated with notable visual artists, musicians, and theater-makers including Abigail DeVille, Meshell Ndegeocello, and Lynn Nottage. www.justinhicksmusic.live

The HawtPlates have worked with numerous organizations and artists across disciplines including Kaneza Schaal, Hilton Als, Helga Davis, Queen Esther, Reggie “Regg Roc” Gray and The D.R.E.A.M. Ring, National Black Theater, The Public Theater, Performance Space New York, and The Park Avenue Armory among many others. The HawtPlates is comprised of drama desk-nominated composer/performer Justin Hicks, his sister, singer/songwriter Jade Hicks, and his wife Tony-nominated actor/singer Kenita Miller-Hicks.
